You will need internet, to get updates and server.db files, but the game itself can run without net connection

Fixed, No internet detected error/ Cannot connect to ubi master server error (no need of portforwarding)
Fully compatible with earlier releases, but recomended a fresh install
Run server.exe then AC2 Launcher.exe to play the game.

To those having the "An internet connection is required" -error:
ReplyDelete1. Click Star > All Programs > Accessories>> right-click Notepad, and then click Run
as administrator.
2. Open the Hosts file (C: Windows System32 drivers etc) and add these entries:

then click Save on the Edit menu. If using Windows 7, you will need to click Save on
the File menu.
Then run "ipconfig /flushdns" in command prompt
if this still don't fix it, then delete the hosts file and create a new one as shown here

For the single closed error server.exe
close all your port 80 using softwares (webserver, Skype) or any such use port 80 and try again!
