Dead Island Book launch

Perhaps the most eagerly-anticipated zombie event of the year is making the perilous leap from video game to video game novelisation, as Bantam and Deep Silver announce Dead Island: The Book.
…no, really, that’s its title.

Dead Island: The Book

The novel will be written by Mark Morris, a British Fantasy Award-winning author who’s also put pen to paper on the Doctor Who novel series. He’s a little bit pleased with his new project:

"Having marvelled, like the rest of the world, at the stunning trailer earlier this year, I absolutely leaped at the opportunity to write the official Dead Island tie-in novel. This is a rich, exotic world of well-conceived characters, stunning locations and all-out zombie mayhem. What really attracted me to the project, however, was the fact that behind the nonstop action is a complex and multi-layered plot. I’m hugely excited and massively honoured to be a part of the Dead Island phenomenon."

The novel itself – set for simultaneous release with Dead Island (the game) in September – follows the lives of four individuals who’ve accidentally ended up on “the ultimate holiday from Hell”.
Royal Palms Resort is a five-star holiday destination – a once-in-a-lifetime dream vacation, a tropical paradise “unlike any other”. That description soon became horribly accurate, as a mysterious zombie outbreak hits the idyllic island of Banoi.
Four guests are apparently unaffected by the zombie apocalypse – and its their stories which are featured in the new book.
