The original Plants vs Zombies was a smash hit when it was released in 2009, so it's not surprising that fans have been clamouring for a sequel ever since. Today fortunately, we can confirm that one is the works and can even say it'll release sometime this July, but beyond that, there's not much to tell.
Below you'll find the teaser trailer for the game that launched today. It features everyone's obese pal Francis raging about the fact that there hasn't been a sequel yet, along with a few other characters such as "pregnant lady," "old guy," and "asian man," who all want Plants vs Zombies 2 to come out now.
Fortunately PopCap has listened to these marketing actors and is set to release Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time, very soon. That's really the tagline for the video too, It's About Time. It's not clear at this point whether that will feature as part of the main title, but it seems unlikely.
NOTE - There is an offline savegame bug introduced in 2.0 version of the game, and not fixed in 2.1. To be able to save your progress in campaign follow these instructions which are given below.

Save Game Bug Fix Instructions -
Launch the game and create an offline profile.
Exit the game and go to Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\SaveData.
You will see a file named "Player.ue3profile" in the folder SaveData.
Change the name of that file from "Player.ue3profile" to ".ue3profile", where is your desired profile name.
When you start the game now, enter your new profile name in the login screen, and choose "Offline Profile". Your profile name should be now visible on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Now progress will be saved and you will be able to continue campaign after restarting the game!
